What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is the practice of paying purposeful, non-judgmental attention to the present moment. It means noticing what’s happening in your body, mind, and surroundings with openness and curiosity — rather than reacting on autopilot.

In the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course, you’ll learn practical ways to apply mindfulness to daily life, helping reduce stress, improve emotional regulation, and enhance overall wellbeing.

8 Week MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course)

Reduce stress, enhance resilience, and reconnect with life.

MBSR is one of the most well-researched and effective mindfulness programs worldwide. Developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, it combines meditation, body awareness, and gentle movement to help you respond more skillfully to stress, anxiety, and difficulty.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Stay grounded during challenging moments

  • Interrupt negative thought cycles

  • Approach yourself with kindness rather than criticism

  • Create space between stimulus and response

Who is it for?
MBSR is for anyone experiencing stress, burnout, overwhelm—or who simply wants to live more fully and intentionally. No prior meditation experience is necessary.

The course includes:

  • 8 weekly group sessions (2.5 hours each)

  • 1 day silent retreat

  • Guided meditations & course materials

  • Small group size for personal support

📍 Location: Drogheda, Co Louth

Once you express interest in joining the 8-week course, I will arrange a short orientation phone call with you before the course begins. This call is an opportunity to talk through what the course involves, clarify any questions you may have, and explore whether this is the right time for you to take part.

Mindfulness courses can be both rewarding and at times emotionally challenging, so it’s important that you feel informed and supported from the start. Together, we can decide if proceeding with the course feels appropriate for you at this time.

I’ve been practicing mindfulness for nearly two decades and have seen its profound impact in my own life and in my work with clients. I hold an MSc in Mindfulness-Based Interventions (MBIs) and a member of the Mindfulness Teachers Association of Ireland (MTAI), adhering to their professional and ethical standards in all my teaching.
